Every season is magical at Broken Bow Lake in southeastern Oklahoma. This scenic lake is surrounded by thousands of trees, lots of hiking, and gorgeous cabins that are perfect for a vacation. Even in the winter when the water is too cold to swim in, the backdrop of the lake makes the most peaceful setting you could wish for.
Broken Bow Lake is one of those places that puts your mind at ease. It's one of the clearest lakes in the state (because the bottom of the lake has rocks and not mud) and it's surrounded by forested mountain terrain.
With 180 miles of shoreline, it offers a variety of water activities in the summer. Visitors can enjoy kayaking, boating, fishing, swimming, and more. It's truly one of the prettiest and cleanest lakes in the state.
One of the great things about this area is the number of cabin rentals in the area. There are thousands of options, ranging from luxury to budget-friendly...all of which are surrounded by breathtaking scenery.
No matter what time of year you visit, a stay in a luxury cabin near the lake is hard to beat. In the winter you can cozy up next to the fire and enjoy the epic views of the mountains.
And, if you're lucky enough to visit in the fall, the scenery is otherworldly. Close to the lake is Lower Mountain Fork River, a very popular destination for fishing.
Hiking can also be enjoyed in every season in Broken Bow. This area is a haven for avid hikers and nature lovers and once you visit you'll see why.
If you visit during the summer, be sure and take a boat tour with Broken Bow Lake Tiki Boat Tours. This fun excursion will take you around the lake on a one-hour ride, all the while sipping cocktails and having fun.
The area also has some great breweries, restaurants, and shopping. No matter what time of year you visit Broken Bow, you're time here will be unforgettable.
