One of my favorite towns to visit in the Sooner State is Medicine Park - a small, quaint community that is charming year-round. Although it is filled with things to do in every season, it's the perfect place to go for a one-day fall escape. It's surrounded by gorgeous mountains that boast beautiful fall colors and the crisp outdoor air is so refreshing on an autumn day. Plan a little fall getaway and enjoy everything this delightful town has to offer.
Nestled in the Wichita Mountains in southwestern Oklahoma is the vintage cobblestone resort town, Medicine Park. Step back in time as you stroll the quaint Cobblestone Row filled with shopping, history and small town America.
It is surrounded by natural beauty on all sides, water running right through it and the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge right next to it. You can enjoy a day trip or weekend trip of breathtaking scenery, fishing, swimming, hiking, shopping, bike riding or just relaxing.
The center of town, Cobblestone Row, is the cutest street filled with unique shopping and quaint restaurants.
From arts and crafts stores to clothing and antiques, you'll love the options of places to shop in town. The fall weather makes this outdoor shopping experience so enjoyable!
All the stores have one-of-a-kind items. You can pick-up some homemade soaps, candles, jewelry and clothing. There's also lots of hidden gems tucked away, waiting for you to find them.
There's a great art festival to catch in the fall. It's filled with arts and craft vendors, live music, local artists and more. The 2017 dates are October 7 & 8.
There's plenty of walking trails to take leisurely strolls all around the community, while enjoying the beautiful Medicine Creek that runs through town.
It's also one of the best places for a fall bike ride. Locals tell us you have to take the bike and stop into Chaps My Ass...where they carry everything except for the bike.
The town is filled with plenty of fantastic restaurants. From bbq to southern cooking to Mexican, you'll find highly-rated restaurants to satisfy every palate. There's also several establishments that offer outdoor patio dining to enjoy the beautiful fall weather.
