Medicine Park was founded in 1908 as a resort town and water source for the nearby town of Lawton. It quickly became a destination city that the rich and famous often frequented.
Today, this charming city is known as a "cobblestone resort community" that is surrounded by astounding beauty, as it sits at the foothills of the Wichita Mountains.
Many of the original structures in town are made from naturally formed cobblestones that are unique to the Wichita Mountains.
Medicine Creek runs through the middle of town and offers a little swimming area, scenic walking trails, and lovely views.
There's also a waterfall at one end that creates the sound of rushing water. It's a picturesque spot, so be sure to visit it during your visit.
The town is full of shopping, dining, recreation, and fascinating history - not to mention thousands of beautiful cobblestones.
Medicine Town was named the "fifth prettiest town in the country" and once you visit you'll want to spend as much time as possible in this picturesque town.
