Oklahoma is full of haunted places that are filled with exaggerated legendary tales of ghosts and goblins. But there's one town that is pretty much undisputedly haunted and filled with paranormal activity -- El Reno -- home to Historic Fort Reno, an old military post. The town is so haunted they even offer ghost tours for visitors to get an inside look at the paranormal activity that exists. Here's a look into the dark side of El Reno, an incredibly creepy small town in Oklahoma:
El Reno is a historic city that is home to Fort Reno - a military camp that began in 1874.
This military post was created as a safe haven for the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes during the Indian Wars era and as a German POW Camp during World War II.
With such a long and diverse history of wars, prisoners and soldiers, Fort Reno has had a good amount of murders, suicides and deaths that have left many restless souls still lurking around town.
Some of the same buildings that were originally built, still stand today. And it's reported these restless spirits have taken up residence in these historic buildings.
Throughout the years, there has been an overwhelming amount of paranormal activity reported from visitors, workers and paranormal investigative teams.
Its a terrifying place...so much so that paranormal investigators began holding ghost tours for the public. The workers have even developed relationships with the spirits and can count on them to make their presence known during the tours.
Some of the paranormal activity reported, includes apparitions of children, doors mysteriously opening and closing, cold spots felt and weird images showing up on film.
Phantom sounds from soldiers have also been heard in the cemetery on site. And men in soldier uniforms have been spotted too.
During the haunted tour, the staff will give full and accurate accounts of all the mystery and history behind this haunted place. This tour is not for the faint of heart and should not be taken if you are easily spooked.
