Hoping for the perfect Oklahoma weekend trip? We've got you covered! If there's one thing we love about Oklahoma (other than the amazing landscape and the majesty of nature), it's that there's no shortage of small towns to explore during those times when you need to get away without going away. Have you ever been to the small town of Eufaula, Oklahoma? It's a gorgeous small town packed with things to do over a weekend, so here are some ideas for your itinerary:
Let's say you arrive in Eufaula on a Saturday morning. Get the sunscreen out, because you're going to spend the day at beautiful Lake Eufaula!
It's the biggest lake in the entire state, with over 105,000 surface acres of water and 800 miles of shoreline! The possibilities of things to do to take up your day are almost endless.
There's a marina and they offer boat rentals (if you don't have your own).
Relax the day away on any number of boats you can choose, including houseboats, pontoon boats, ski boats, paddle boats and more. The lake is also accessible for fishing year-round, and during the colder months, they have a heated dock to fish from if you so desire.
It's incredibly easy to kill an entire day at Lake Eufaula.
Your day doesn't have to be spent entirely on the water, either - there are tons of trails surrounding the lake, and they're great for hiking, walking and biking. There's also an 18-hole golf course nearby the lake, so if that's your game, have at it! Sunset on the lake is gorgeous, but after a full day of fun in the sun, you're probably hungry.
Have dinner at Dobber's Roadhouse, an absolutely delectable restaurant with a spectacular menu.
They're renowned for their delicious food, and we suggest you try the green beans and meatloaf. They might be the best we've ever had.
You can find Dobber's Roadhouse at 17155 East State Highway 9 E, Eufaula, Oklahoma, 74432
You might be getting tired, so you should crash at a local Airbnb for the night.
This one is our pick! It's a gorgeous, newly remodeled home that makes you feel like you're in a treehouse. To check out more pictures and get booking info, check out

The following morning, you absolutely need to go get breakfast at I Smell Bacon, one of the very best breakfast joints in Oklahoma!
They offer up an awesome menu full of home-cooked goodness with some of the best service you'll ever get. There's something about restaurants in small towns that are just so very homey, and we are here for it. Find I Smell Bacon at 540 Selmon Road, Eufaula, Oklahoma, 74432.
Following breakfast (they're open for lunch, too - just saying), take a stroll in one or all of the five parks around Eufaula.
They've all got their own charms and their own thing going on, so it's worth the adventure to check them out.
Spend the rest of your afternoon shopping on historic Main Street.
There are bunches of great, unique little mom-and-pop local shops here, so make sure you've got your walking shoes on! For example, there's a delightful kiwi farm nearby, as well as a little shop called Our Favorite Place, which features over 100 artists and vendors under their roof.
We're pretty sure Eufaula might be one of the better small towns for the ideal, picturesque Oklahoma weekend trip. It's got a little bit of everything for just about anyone, from great shopping at local stores to a stunningly beautiful lake to relax on. What are your favorite small towns in Oklahoma?
