Oklahoma is home to many beautiful places during the Fall season. The gorgeous hues of orange, red, and yellow make for a postcard setting, and we found 8 places you're going to want to visit as soon as possible. Check them out below, then plan a day trip and visit some of them in person.

1. Beavers Bend State Park: Broken Bow

Beavers Bend State Park is one of the most beautiful places in the state and during the Fall season its jaw-dropping beauty impresses everyone who visits. This magical place is full of areas to view the bold colors of Autumn and nature experiences abound in every corner.

2. Talimena Scenic Drive: Talihina

The Talimena Scenic Drive is a scenic 54-mile stretch of highway that will take you through the Ouachita National Forest. It stretches from Talihina, Oklahoma, all the way across the border to Mena, Arkansas. The drive is about 1 hour without any stops. We recommend you allow at least half a day to enjoy all the stops and small towns along the route.

3. Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge: Indiahoma

Besides the beautiful wildlife and gorgeous mountains, the place is so serene and truly something to marvel over in the fall season. There is a scenic highway that leads visitors through the park and showcases the beautiful wildlife and fauna so you can view the scenery from your car.

4. Robbers Cave State Park: Wilburton

Robbers Cave State Park is home to the gorgeous San Bois Mountain Range — a region full of scenic bluffs, rich fall colors, and an abundance of outdoor activities. If you feel like getting out to explore, check out the caves or take an easy hike up the mountain where you'll see sweeping views in every direction.

5. Turner Falls Park: Davis

There are fall colors and then there are fall colors at Turner Falls. The cool air and beautiful sites will make you want to stay outside all day. As you take in the impressive views in every direction and feel the brisk air, you will undoubtedly long for a cup of something warm.

6. Chickasaw National Recreation Area: Sulphur

One of the most beautiful places to explore in the Sooner State is Chickasaw National Recreation Area in southern Oklahoma. It’s the oldest national park area in the state and has been an outdoor haven for nature enthusiasts since the park first opened in 1902. All the thick, lush green foliage turns to bold colors and it's quite impressive.

7. Medicine Park

The charming town of Medicine Park is situated at the base of the Wichita Mountains so you not only have stunning views of the surrounding scenery but the town's foliage is also beautiful in the Fall. It's the perfect town to visit for a Fall day trip.

8. Bricktown: Oklahoma City

If you don't have the time to travel to one of these previous nature settings, Bricktown in Oklahoma City is a great spot to enjoy the colors of Fall. This urban spot has a lovely canal and the trees lining it pop with hues of Autumn.
