Embrace relaxation as you sample wines, and maybe grab a bite to eat, at Wyandotte Winery, which boasts the motto, “You enter a customer, but you leave a friend.” The popular winery has been creating friendships since it opened in 1977.
The winery offers both (limited) indoor and outdoor patio seating, so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy one of the wines on the menu. All of Wyandotte’s wines are made on-site at the winery.
Choose from such favorites as Apple Hill, Sweet William’s Sweet Red Wine, White Rose, and Statehouse Cabernet with a merlot blend. Once you return home, you can also purchase wines and wine cakes from the winery’s online shop.
Wyandotte Winery also offers a light menu of light bites and pizza, perfect for pairing with your wine. If you’re feeling a bit adventurous, try one of the popular wine slushies, or order a pitcher of sangria.
Along with its sister winery Rockside Winery, Wyandotte Winery offers membership to its popular wine club. Benefits include free tastings, discounts, and members-only events.

After toasting your visit to Wyandotte Winery, climb in the car for the short drive, about 20 minutes, to Hayden Falls, nestled in Griggs Reservoir Park. The waterfall is easy to access by a short walking path that tallies .03 of a mile.
However, make sure you’re wearing sturdy shoes that do well on slippery surfaces. Although the trail to the falls leads you along a boardwalk, it can sometimes get slippery, especially after a rainfall or a snowfall.
To reach the base of Hayden Falls, stroll down a set of stairs, which are on the steep side and will take you to the cascade’s base and absolutely stunning views. The stairs, which number around 50, make the base of the waterfall inaccessible for those with strollers and in wheelchairs.
Your best bet is to visit after a recent rainfall; otherwise, you might arrive to find the waterfall dry. When it’s running, Hayden Falls tumbles down 25 and boasts a crest of 10 feet.
If you’re up for a bit more exploring after admiring the waterfall, you’ll find a full menu of activities at Griggs Reservoir Park – biking and driving trails, a disc golf course, and wildlife watching Learn more on the official website of The City of Columbus.
