The cold weather is here and although you might be dreaming of long summer days and springtime flowers, consider making the most of the season while it's still here. This family-favorite destination features the Timberline Trail which is one of the longest in Ohio, some of the longest tubing lanes in the state, a large Snow Trails Ski Shop, a beginner's area, children's programs, and so much more.

2. Old Man's Cave (Logan)
Ohio's favorite hiking spot transforms into a magical winter wonderland during the winter months. Frozen waterfalls, snow covered trees, and eerie caves abound along this the Old Man's Cave Trail.

3. Ma & Pa’s Cabin & Sleigh Rides (Burton)
There's nothing quite like a trip to Ma & Pa's, a picturesque log cabin the woods featuring speciality gifts, handcrafted furniture, and old-fashioned sleigh rides. You can take a journey through the wooded area on a two-horse open sleigh all winter long on Saturdays and Sundays. After your ride, warm up at the cabin by the fire with some hot chocolate or coffee and some cookies. (Note: reservations for sleigh rides are required, so be sure to call ahead.) 4. The Chalet (Strongsville)
Cleveland Metroparks features a truly spectacular toboggan chute you need to experience this winter. The Chalet in Strongsville’s Mill Stream Run Reservation is home to the tallest and fastest ice chutes in Ohio. The Chalet is located in Cleveland Metroparks Mill Stream Run Reservation. 6. Mad River Mountain (Zanesfield)
Although ski resorts and chair lifts are probably some of the last things that come to mind when you think of Ohio, you should know that the state is home to a pretty epic winter resort.
