Not many small-town movie theaters are still around. There are actually a handful of these theaters in North Dakota still going, including the oldest, longest-running theater in the United States. Another great example of a theater that's still showing movies is the Page Theater, and more people should know about it. Here's why:
Page, North Dakota is a quiet, charming small town in Cass County with a population of just over 230 residents. It was founded in 1882.
Among all the locally-owned shops and businesses in Page, there is a special community-run theater that shows today's movies for locals to see.
The Page Theatre shows movies on the first weekend of the month from April through September, and on occasional Wednesdays. You can't miss the theater when you see this classic signage out front - it'll remind you of the good old days.
Just like any other theater, Page Theatre makes delicious, fresh popcorn and has other snacks for a great movie-going experience. They show newly released movies as well as the occasional older picture, some of which show for free.
If you're feeling up to a movie but want a more special theater experience, try the Page Theatre and discover why this spot is a North Dakota hidden gem.
If you're interested in visiting the Page Theater, you'll be happy to know that they are opening for the 2020 season starting on the first weekend of April. Visit their Facebook page to see what movies they'll be showing and find more information.
