The Old Red Old Ten Scenic Byway is one of the most charming drives you can take through North Dakota.
The route will take you off the interstate and through beautiful small towns and scenic countrysides in between the cities of Dickinson and Mandan.
By following this route, it will take you through small towns like Taylor, ND - famous for its annual horse festivals.
Richardton is another stop, where you can visit the gorgeous Assumption Abbey or just take a cruise down main street.
The byway has a great feature called the Talking Trail. While you're taking the drive, stop at the Talking Trail signs and call a specific number to listen to the history of that area and stories or urban legends attached to it. There are over 40 spots to listen to the audio.
As you continue along the drive, you'll discover hidden ghost towns and pretty places you never knew existed before.
And it'll go through well known attractions such as Salem Sue in New Salem, ND, where you can get this amazing view.
Taking the Old Red Old Ten Scenic Byway is the perfect way to unwind, appreciate North Dakota, learn a little something, and just get away from it all.
