About halfway in between Fargo and Grand Forks, right off of I-29, is the small town of Hillsboro. It has a population of about 1,600 people and all the great things people love about North Dakota's little cities: local businesses, a strong community, and plenty of postcard-perfect sights. Hillsboro also has a wonderful little cafe that not only the locals love, but outsiders far and wide do, too. Here's the perfect small-town cafe in North Dakota that deserves some recognition:
The Hillsboro Cafe & Bakery is a local favorite and a visitor's, too. No matter where you're from, you're sure to love everything inside of this humble, community-driven spot.

Whether you come for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a delicious baked good, The Hillsboro Cafe has you covered. Their savory meals are hard to resist:
And their fresh-baked pastries are equally tempting. They make fresh pies, scones, cakes, and more every day. Yum!
We have to mention the caramel rolls. They're simply to die for - North Dakota desserts at their finest! If they have them in (and if they do, they go quick) be sure to grab one.
Along with their breakfast pastries and other meals, they also have tons of awesome desserts you can take home, order custom, or enjoy right in the cafe. Cupcakes, bars, cake slices - you name it.
Their fresh-baked cookies are incredible, too, and a must-have if you're enjoying lunch here. Really, there's nothing not to love about The Hillsboro Cafe!
