Reconnecting with nature can be accomplished in so many ways in North Carolina. From a trip to the beautiful coast to a hike through the woods or chasing waterfalls, locals and visitors alike can always find a place and a way to relax and unwind. But sometimes we may overlook other obvious ways to become one with nature, like animal encounters. At Farmony's Safari Edventure In North Carolina, you can interact with charming creatures such as sloths, kangaroos, and even wolves!
Welcome to the cutest, friendliest, and most unique wildlife rescue farm in the Tar Heel State: Farmony's Safari Edventure!
This completely non-profit rescue farm provides opportunities to get up close to a number of animals that have been rescued, re-homed, and rehabilitated.
Farmony isn't a zoo, and as such, visitors have the chance to interact one-on-one with many of the residents of this animal sanctuary.
Most people who visit have a life-altering experience and come away feeling they've just had the best day of their life. It's easy to see why so many return again and again to visit the happy rescued animals in this small wildlife center.
Farmony was started more than 40 years ago and has maintained a consistent mission to both rescue animals in need and to educate visitors about nature.
Animal encounters take place regularly, giving most a chance to play with a sloth...
...or get a kangaroo kiss (or two) from the adorable rescued kangaroos. While some of the animals at this sanctuary were born to those rescued or adopted by Farmony, about 90% came to the farm as rescues or for rehabilitation.
While most people have never touched a sloth, there are other animal encounters as well as other animals in residence that may be best viewed with a little distance -- like the prickly porcupine.
The next time you're in search of a one-of-a-kind animal encounter, be sure to head to Marshall to visit Farmony's Safari Edventure. It will change your life.
Farmony's Safari Edventure is only open on certain days of the week, so be sure to check their schedule before planning your visit!
If you're not entirely sure where Marshall is found in the big state of North Carolina, it's approximately 28 miles north of Asheville.
