Learning more about the Empire State is something that, as New Yorkers, we find to be a fascinating past time. Down in the quaint city of Kingston, you can check out the Trolley Museum of New York where you can enjoy amazing trolley rides around the area's waterfront and dive into history. Those who continue to travel north along the Hudson River though, you'll find that Kingston isn't the only city to offer wonderful trolley rides.
Settled back in 1614, New York State's Capital of Albany is the definition of a historic gem and thanks to the Discover Albany Visitors Center, you can explore this city in a unique way.
Teaming up with the Capital District Transportation Authority, the visitors center is offering one more date during the 2019 season for their historic trolley tours.
On September 20th, beginning at 11 a.m. passengers will make their way around the city of Albany in a charming trolley.
Throughout the duration of your ride you’ll get to enjoy intriguing storytelling, all while learning about the history and architecture of New York State’s capital.
While you're enjoying the hour and a half long trip, you'll sit back as the trolley takes you to areas like Albany’s Warehouse District, Ten Broeck Triangle, Downtown Albany, Capitol Hill, Center Square, and Washington Park.
Exploring more than 400-years of history, the historic narrated tour gives both locals and out-of-town New Yorkers a chance to learn more about one of the state's most historic cities.
If you can’t happen to make it to the final historic tour but you’re looking to board the trolley, you’ll have plenty of other opportunities to catch a ride like on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights between 5 p.m. and 12:30 a.m., when the trolley runs for free around Albany - stopping near restaurants, attractions, hotels, and parking garages in Downtown and along Lark Street.
