1. Forest Music at The Wild Center: 45 Museum Dr, Tupper Lake, NY 12986
Your first stop will be The Wild Center. This natural history museum is right in the middle of the Adirondack Park. It's pretty well known and is a fairly popular destination, but many don't realize it's hiding a secret musical forest.
This gorgeous trail is a 1,000-foot loop through the woods that has speakers hidden along the path. The museum plays soothing music that was designed with the trail in mind. This is a neat experience that combines music, technology, and nature. You can find out more about The Wild Center by clicking the link.
2. Star Trek Original Series Set Tour: 112 Montcalm St, Ticonderoga, NY 12883
Your next stop is an absolute must for Trekkies. Most of the sets from the original Star Trek series have been destroyed, with only a few remaining in private collections. But one of the most perfect replicas in existence is right here in New York. You can take a tour of the set, which is run by a group that hosts the annual Trekonderoga convention. They even hold events throughout the year featuring guests who were on the show or its spin-offs. You can find a list of upcoming events and more information about this labor of love on the set's the Star Trek Tour website.
3. Secret Caverns: 671 Caverns Rd, Howes Cave, NY 12092
The Howe Caverns are a nationally known attraction, but many don't know about the aptly-named Secret Caverns that reside nearby. This place combines folk art and eccentricity with a magical underground place that has a 100-foot waterfall. A 45-minute tour through the cave will have you falling in love. If nothing else you can marvel at the wild signs located all around the countryside leading to the cave.
Please note, the Secret Caverns are open seasonally. You'll want to make sure to bring along warm clothing, as the caves hover around 50 degrees year-round. You can get more information about the cave and book your own tour at the Secret Caverns website. Also, make sure to learn more about this absolute must-see cave adventure by clicking the link.

We love the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. This is one of the most underrated attractions in New York, and one of the only places you can regularly see antique aircraft in action. The museum has dozens of old airplanes and replicas, and puts on air shows each week featuring recurring characters. You can check out their impressive collection on the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome website.
