It may be easy to look back on school and see an experience that you're glad to be done with, but there are plenty of things that we'll never forget about this point in our lives. We all may have our own favorites, but there are certain field trips that we once took as a kid that resulted in memories that will never leave us. Giving the chance to relive the past, here are some of the best field trips you can take around New York that should enjoy once more.

1. Your local zoo, more specifically the Bronx Zoo.

A large majority of our residents, even the ones who live nowhere near New York City, made the big trip down to the Bronx Zoo at least once for a field trip. Worth the drive, this unforgettable zoo adventure is just one of many you can find throughout our state.

2. Corning Museum of Glass - Corning

While other states may have field trips that seem dreadful, visiting one of New York's museums can actually quite the fascinating experience. The Corning Museum of Glass features glass works of art all over the place and even has its own area where visitors can make their own glass! To be able to have such a unique place to visit for a field trip only further reminds us of why we love living in New York.

3. Howe Caverns - Howes Caves

It's not every day that we get to go exploring underground! Offering cave tours that give you a unique look at history and science, the educational experience is also one that's incredibly adventurous. Taking you over 150 feet below the surface, it's hard to believe that this beautiful world is hiding right below us in Central New York!

4. Visit a local farm.

One of the first field trips many of us would take in the beginning of the school year, residents all over New York have visited local farms to learn more about all that goes on here. Whether you're visiting to see how local food is grown or are learning about how farm animals are managed, there's many things you can learn about while visiting small town spots like these.

5. Aquarium of Niagara - Niagara Falls

Another field trip that's interchangeable, most kids at one point or another made a trip out to some magnificent Aquarium. Western New Yorkers had gems like the Aquarium of Niagara their fingertips while other residents may have even traveled out of state to spots like the New England Aquarium out in Boston.

6. Adirondack Experience - Blue Mountain Lake

It seems that all throughout the Adirondacks you can find some of our most unique museums and educational spaces. The Adirondack Experience, formerly known as the Adirondack Museum, is a spot up in Blue Mountain Lake that gives you an amazing look at the area's history. Covering over 120-acres and preserving the Adirondack's history, the museum has both indoor and outdoor exhibits for you to experience.

7. National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum - Cooperstown

Another fun field trip out in Central New York, most of our residents made a trip out to Cooperstown to see what this amazing area was all about. Most students who made the field trip here visited destinations like the Baseball Hall of Fame, Farmers Museum, Fenimore Art Museum and even Glimmerglass State Park.

8. Kykuit - Sleepy Hollow

If you lived down near Westchester County there's a good chance you made a field trip to Sleepy Hollow's very own Kykuit. A forty room Rockefeller estate, this historic property has maintained it's magnificent scenic beauty over the years. Originally built in 1913, the estate is made up of gorgeous gardens, amazing architecture, fascinating pieces of history and stunning art that will wow you.

9. Glenn H. Curtiss Museum - Hammondsport

Right in the Finger Lakes, the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum gives you a look into the history of aviation. The intriguing museum offers educational tours that allow you to learn about local history that you previously never knew about. A great place to revisit time and time again, there's nothing like enjoying a guided tour through this place.

10. Ellis Island - New York City

The perfect place to visit if you're looking to get a unique look at the roots of New York, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty were destinations that most of us have visited for school. Giving you a look at how immigrants once arrived to this country and came to call New York their home, this small island is a huge and important piece of our history.
