Taking you up near our Thousand Islands region in Jefferson County, the town of Henderson is a remote slice of paradise.
With a population of just over 1,000 residents, this small town will truly take you away from it all.
A serene place to visit, the undeniably stunning scenery and views of Lake Ontario draw in photographers from all over our state.
One of the most beautiful spots in town? Southwick Beach State Park that covers over 400-acres.
Featuring a long sandy beach, the park's swimming season runs from the end of June until the very beginning of September.
A gorgeous place to visit if you're looking to spend time outdoors, the park is wonderful for swimming, camping near the beach, hiking or simply enjoying a nice picnic by the water.
But that's not all! If you can believe it, there's actually another amazing beach in this town.
Take an easy drive to the other end of Henderson and you'll get to walk along another long and sandy beach at Westcott Beach State Park.
So if you're looking to explore a town full of natural wonders and beaches, it's time you start planning a trip out to Henderson!
As if you didn't already have your breath stolen away from you after visiting these two scenic state parks, there's even more natural wonders waiting for you here! The town of Henderson is also home to Robert G. Wehle State Park that's right along the water (but doesn't offer swimming) and the Black Pond Wildlife Management Area.
