Famous for its beautiful El Santuario de Chimayó, the little town of Chimayó is home to around 3,000 people. This rural little town is also home to an award-winning restaurant.
Arturo and Florence Jaramillo opened Rancho De Chimayó in 1965, and it's been earning awards ever since. In fact, the restaurant won the 2016 James Beard Foundation America's Classic Award.
The restaurant is located at 300 Juan Medina Rd., Chimayo, NM 87522.
The bright, airy dining room provides the perfect backdrop for the delicious food here, and the staff makes you feel like a member of the family from the moment you walk in.
Start your meal with a light, pillowy sopaipilla. One is included with every entree.
The food here is fresh and flavorful. The dishes were developed over decades from ancestral and family recipes.
New Mexico's state vegetables, the pinto bean and the chile are celebrated here. You'll want to sink your teeth into a chile relleno, cheese enchilada, or crunchy beef taco.

From November through April, Rancho De Chimayó is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.. Visit May through October seven days a week.
