Did you know New Jersey has a wine country? In fact, it has more than one - several regions of the state are classified as wine regions of note. Knowlton Township is a heavily rural area, but is home to some charming small towns like Columbia.

The area is home to many historic buildings, like this unique 1835 schoolhouse.
The most famous spot in the area is probably the historic Hainesburg Inn, which is now an incredibly unique-looking veterinary hospital.
Not all the buildings here are historic - but a lot of them still have that vibe, like the Log Cabin Bar and Grill.
A classic watering hole serving excellent burgers and fried apps, it's a great place to fill up for the adventure ahead.
Want a challenge? Hiking Mount Tammany provides one of the best views in the state.
If you'd like to commune with nature, the Lakota Wolf Preserve - the largest preserve of its kind in the US - has regular events and tours.
You'll definitely want to end your night with a visit to Brook Hollow Winery, a popular tasting room and event facility.
