The Jersey Shore is one of New Jersey's most beautiful locations, but many people don't know about a part of it that is well off the beaten path. Far south of the popular tourist destinations of Asbury Park and Point Pleasant Beach, but well before you get to the famous southern destination of Cape May, you'll find Ocean Drive. A series of interconnected local roads, Ocean Drive connects Atlantic City to Cape May along the barrier islands of New Jersey. As you travel the shore via this unique route, you'll visit some of the best off-the-beaten-path towns in the state. Stunning views await as you drive to North Wildwood, where you'll find the famous Grassy Sound Marina - but most people who take this drive agree that the journey is half the appeal.
Ocean Drive takes you along some of the most beautiful roads in all of New Jersey, along the barrier islands that bridge one end of the Jersey Shore to the other.
The drive begins near Ocean City, where you'll find one of the state's most underrated boardwalks full of shops and attractions only feet from the beach.
Not far from this is Corson's Inlet State Park, a stunning view of the water far off the beaten path.
As you drive through the backroads, you'll see some of the most beautiful towns in the state, like Sea Isle City and its famous water tower.
As you pass through Avalon, keep an eye out for the historic lighthouse - no longer operating but still preserved. It's one of the city's most famous sights.
Sometimes you'll see nothing but quiet shore roads, which is perfect for reflecting and enjoying the cool sea air. It feels a million miles away from the big attractions.
But eventually, you'll find your way to North Wildwood - where you'll find the gateway to the shore's biggest attractions.
Your final destination is Grassy Sound Marina, a sprawling complex filled with boats and recreation opportunities - as well as some of the most beautiful vistas in the entire Jersey Shore.
