New Jersey shore towns are each unique. Some offer family-friendly boardwalks, while others focus on nightlife, and still others are so drenched in history and historic places that a visit feels like a walk back in time. While each of our coastal communities has a lot to offer, and every one of them is worth visiting, there's one sleepy little town that truly encompasses peak "Jersey Shore" vibes - and we're certainly not talking about the TV show!
Welcome to Sea Isle City - a quiet Cape May County town that maintains the old-fashioned and timeless feel of the Jersey Shore.
Sea Isle was one of the state's first seaside resorts, opening beaches and hotels in the early 1900s.
Today, it remains one of the more popular shore towns, with seasonal populations booming to accommodate millions of visitors.
Sea Isle City is a fairly quiet town, compared to many of the other busy shore towns that surround it. The pristine beaches are one of the main attractions here.
While it lacks the boardwalk shops and amusement parks of nearby Ocean City, Sea Isle is a great foodie city, and attracts visitors of every age.
You'll find the best seafood at the shore within the town's historic Fish Alley. Grab crabs, fish, or shellfish at Mike's Seafood, and whip up a coastal dinner you're shore to love.
If you'd rather let someone else do the cooking for you, head to Hank Sauce.
This small restaurant started off as a hot sauce company. Today, they make a variety of handhelds including tacos, burgers, and their signature pinchos (pictured).
There's nothing better than ice cream after a long day on the beach - so don't forget to stop by Marita's.
This window-serve ice cream shop offers unique flavors and sundaes. You can order your favorite Dole whip, or try their famous "Brookie Dough".
If you are looking for some nightlife, you won't be disappointed. The Ocean Drive is one of the best places to dance, drink, and listen to live music at the shore, and it's always fun on a weekend night.
Sea Isle City truly has it all! Do you adore this little shore town? We love hearing from our readers - let us know your favorite places in New Jersey by nominating them!
