New Jersey is the Garden State and, as such, we're home to hundreds and thousands of acres of farmland. Still, we're not particularly rural. This means it can be difficult to get away from it all and disconnect, but there are options. One of our favorite rest and relaxation destinations is Wharton State Forest. Become one with nature, enjoy history, and appreciate the beauty of the Garden State. However, if you prefer farmland to woodlands, this charming little town may be more up your alley...

Welcome to Mullica Hill!

According to the official tourism board of New Jersey..."Set deep in New Jersey’s scenic southern farmlands, Mullica Hill, settled in the late 17th century and built mostly during the Civil War era, has the best of the past and present." We have to agree. The area is rich in Quaker tradition and home to a variety of charming antique shops.

Antiquing is one of our favorite things to do in town!

You'll find amazing shops like The Parsonage (pictured), Yellow Garage Antiques, and Old Mill Antiques. All sorts of treasures await. They even have an Antiques & Vintage Street Fair on Main Street each year. For 2019, the event will be held on April 20th.

Then, there's the wonderful winery...

William Heritage Winery was named New Jersey’s "Winery of the Year" in 2011 and 2014 by the Garden State Wine Growers Association. It offers hour long tours and tastings, and hosts a variety of special events. Visit on February 16th for a wine and chocolate event with live music. Near the heart of town, you'll discover an amazing Amish Market.

As authentic as it gets, you'll find fresh produce, kettlemade soaps, fresh meat and cheese, Dutch twist pretzels, nuts, candies, baked goods, flowers, and a full service restaurant. We absolutely love the breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet options. They've always got amazing deals...I'm daydreaming about their $11.99 dinner buffet. While there are some lovely things to do, escape everything at The Candle House Inn.

A modern farmhouse located on 34 private acres, guests are welcome to stroll the grounds and watch out for wildlife like deer, turkey, hawks, and eagles.
