New Hampshire's large towns and cities are meccas for great dining, but we have a soft spot in our hearts for The Granite State's quiet little hamlets. Here's a rural restaurant in the little town of Bartlett that you'll want to put on your dining bucket list.
Welcome to White Mountain Cider Company. This charming restaurant is located inside a barn built in the 1880s, so if you're looking for a rustic, rural dining experience, it doesn't get better than this.
Address: 207 US-302, Glen, NH, 03838
Start your dining adventure by climbing up to the beautiful, hand-carved bar.
The fully-stocked bar offers all kinds of house cocktails, beer, red and white, and sparkling wines.
After your cocktail, settle into the cozy dining room for your meal. This 1880s barn has been lovingly restored to include many of its original architectural details, and it's a warm, inviting place to enjoy a meal.
You'll find plenty of appetizers to get you started, and you might be tempted to order several. Go ahead - get a few to share.
The menu at White Mountain Cider Company is always changing, depending on what's fresh and in season.
Ingredients are sourced locally whenever possible, and chef Teresa Stearns crafts the most delicious, creative meals you can imagine.
Dessert is a definite must here. From the decadent chocolate marquis to the homemade apple cider donuts served with vanilla ice cream, there's something here to tempt your tastebuds.
Make sure to visit the Red Barn, where you'll find a market, bakery and coffee shop. You can also grab a glass of wine or cider and enjoy some simple fare like cheese and charcuterie.
If you're visiting from mid-September through December, stop by the cider mill where you can see the fresh cider being pressed right on site.
White Mountain Cider Company's restaurant is open all year long. Visit every day of the week except for Wednesday, starting at 5 p.m..
