We can all agree that New Hampshire has some of the best scenery — and most gorgeous towns — in the entire nation. From the rugged White Mountains to rolling country hills and dramatic seashore, there's something to admire nearly everywhere you turn. Even so, these 9 towns stand out for their particularly gorgeous locations. Photographers, this list is for you!
1. Sugar Hill
Sugar Hill is almost unfairly beautiful. It's tiny and charming old church is perfectly photographable, and its annual lilac bloom is one of the most spectacular things you can see in New Hampshire. The purple shadows of mountains in the distance only add to its beauty.
2. Hanover
Hanover is justly famous for the beautiful campus of Dartmouth College — but it's also home to frontage on the Connecticut, lovely forests (the Appalachian Trail runs through town), and the charming village of Etna with its lovely classic homes.
3. North Conway
Sure, it's touristy, but for good reason. North Conway has the most picture-perfect downtown, and the views of Mt. Washington can't be beat. Ride the scenic railroad to really take them in!
4. Keene
Keene has an utterly charming downtown, and Goose Pond is a really lovely place to cool off in the summer.
5. Meredith
With gorgeous homes and incredible lake frontage, Meredith is unbelievably beautiful. It's no wonder this is such a popular vacation spot!
6. Peterborough
With a charming and quirky downtown, plenty of neat historic buildings, and beautiful river frontage, Peterborough is an obvious spot to visit.
7. Canterbury
Canterbury is absolutely lovely — and its historic charm is particularly evident at the Canterbury Shaker Village, where the views of rolling fields and distant hills are especially magnificent.
8. Whitefield
Whitefield is ridiculously scenic, and the best place to admire the view is definitely the porch of the Mountain View Grand Hotel.
9. Cornish
The Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge is a sight worth visiting Cornish for on its own — but throw in the beauty of the Saint-Gaudens historical site and you have one gorgeous town.
