Temperatures getting colder can only mean one thing! Summer is over, Autumn is here, and Halloween is on its way. We love Halloween so much that the moment we see the first leaf change color we're ready to start our list of must-visit seasonal celebrations. The are a lot of good ones, but this one has been running for 30 years and it just keeps getting better.
The event that all Halloween lovers wait for all year is finally (almost) here!
The quiet town of Milford has approximately 15,000 residents, but the Milford Pumpkin Festival draws more than 45,000 pumpkin-lovers to the town.
The place becomes a veritable autumnal dream!
The event features local music, food, artisans, small businesses & community events throughout the entire weekend.
The majority of events take place downtown at the Oval, the Community House Lawn, Emerson Park and South and Middle Streets, Milford Town Hall and the Amato Family Performing Art Center on Mount Vernon Street.
But the entire town comes together to celebrate so you'll find a spirit of fun throughout the town for the days leading up to the weekend.
One of the highlights of the weekend is the great pumpkin weigh-in.
And perhaps our favorite part is the exciting (and beautiful!) town hall pumpkin lighting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday night.
You can also enjoy two days of beer, wine and spirits tasting as well as the scarecrow, pumpkin and face painting that attracts kids and adults.
And, of course, remember to come hungry because there will be plenty of food!
The 2019 Milford Pumpkin Festival will take place Friday, October 11th starting at 5 p.m. Check out the official website here to see the activities and events that are planned. Address: Milford, New Hampshire 03055.
