In our humble opinion, breakfast is the best meal of the day – after all, there are so many options! Sweet or savory, meaty or carby...it's truly the perfect meal. And what could be better than trying all of these options, all day long? Follow our diner trail for all the breakfast you could ever dream of. The drive covers 259 miles and would take about 6 hours with no stops – but we think you should make a whole weekend of this!
Our route will take you all over the state, from Lebanon to the Seacoast and back over to Keene. For an interactive map, click
We'll start at the delightful Four Aces Diner in Lebanon.
This charming, old-fashioned spot is always packed on the weekends, so get there early – and don't skip the pancakes. Find it at 23 Bridge St, West Lebanon, NH 03784.
Next, it's over to the Lakes Region to check out George's Diner in Meredith.
This humble spot never lets its customers down. See their great service for yourself at 10 Plymouth St, Meredith, NH 03253.
From there it's not far to the retro Tilt'n Diner in Tilton.
This retro spot serves up its pancakes and bacon with a huge side of charm. Step back in time at 61 Laconia Rd, Tilton, NH 03276.
Next, it's over to the Seacoast for a stop at Portsmouth's beloved Gilley's Diner.
Gilley's, of course, is primarily known for its burgers and dogs, but they do serve breakfast sandwiches too. Of course, after a few meals of pancakes, you might be ready for a nice savory plate of cheese fries by this point on our journey! Check it out at 175 Fleet St, Portsmouth, NH 03801.
Just a short jaunt down the coast, you'll find the Airfield Cafe in Hampton.
As the name suggests, this cafe is located right on the Hampton Airfield – you'll have a great view of planes taking off and landing while you enjoy your meal! Visit at 9A Lafayette Rd, North Hampton, NH 03862.
Next, it's over to Salem, where we'll enjoy a visit to MaryAnn's Diner.
The '50s decor is incredible at this spot – we'll give you a hint, it involves a car mounted on a wall – and the food is just as good as the ambiance. Check it out at 9 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, Salem, NH 03079.
Head west to Peterborough for another nostalgic stop at the Peterborough Diner.
You'll find plenty of downright delectable meals in this old-fashioned dining car. Visit at 10 Depot St, Peterborough, NH 03458.
For our final stop, we'll head to Lindy's Diner in Keene.
This spot isn't fancy, but the food is sure to hit the spot (if you have any room left, that is!) Check out it out at 19 Gilbo Ave, Keene, NH 03461.
