Sure, small town living is great, but sometimes you've got to visit larger cities for quality dining and entertainment. Many of the bigger cities in Nevada have unlimited options when it comes to dining and entertainment and I've listed 10 of these cities below.

1. Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the county seat of Clark County and is located in Nevada's Mojave Desert. It's Nevada's largest city and is known for its 24-hour casinos and endless dining and entertainment options. Las Vegas refers to itself as the "Entertainment Capital of the World."

2. Henderson

Henderson, located in Clark County, is known for its beautiful residential areas. It has been named as "One of the Best Cities to Live in America" by Bloomberg Businessweek, and in 2014, it was ranked as one of the Top 10 "Safest Cities in the United States" by the FBI Uniform Crime Report. Shopping malls, restaurants and casino resorts offer Henderson residents and visitors a variety of choices for leisure time.

3. Reno

Reno is the county seat of Washoe County and is known as "The Biggest Little City in the World." It's famous for its casinos, but Reno is home to many other attractions. These attractions include the National Automobile Museum, National Bowling Stadium, Truckee River Whitewater Park and the Reno Air Races.

4. North Las Vegas

North Las Vegas, located in Clark County in the Las Vegas Valley, is known for its industrial, commercial and residential development. One of the best places to stay in North Las Vegas is Cannery Casino Hotel, which offers free live entertainment from top artists.

5. Enterprise

Formed in 1996, Enterprise is an unincorporated town in Clark County. The Mountains Edge community and Town Square is located in Enterprise. Town Square is an upscale dining, business, fashion and entertainment center.

6. Carson City

Carson City was founded in 1858 and is the capital city of Nevada. Downtown Carson City offers several dining and entertainment options. For those interested in history, there are many historical landmarks located throughout Carson City, such as the State Capitol Building and the historic St. Charles Hotel. The St. Charles Hotel (pictured above) was built in 1862 and is one of the oldest continuously operating hotels in Nevada.

7. Spring Valley

Spring Valley was formed in 1981 and is an unincorporated town in Clark County. Chinatown is a popular area in Spring Valley and includes a variety of pan-Asian businesses.

8. Sparks

Sparks, established in 1905, is located east of Reno in Washoe County. A few tourist attractions in this Nevada city include the Great Basin Brewing Company, Nugget Casino Resort and Sparks Marina Park.

9. Sunrise Manor

Sunrise Manor, formed in 1957, is an unincorporated town in Clark County. According to the website Neighborhood Scout, Sunrise Manor's median real estate price is $21,989--making it one of the most affordable places to live in Nevada.

10. Paradise

Paradise is an unincorporated town in Clark County and is adjacent to the city of Las Vegas. Because the majority of the Las Vegas Strip is in Paradise, visitors will have endless dining and entertainment options. The McCarran International Airport is also located in Paradise.

Along the Loneliest Road in America in the middle of nowhere sits a tiny little town called Middlegate. Once a spot where the Pony Express changed horses, today it's known for two things: A tree full of discarded shoes and a quaint, old-west restaurant called Middlegate Station in Nevada.

Although it's a remote watering hole, Middlegate Station serves up amazing grub as well as a food-eating challenge that's hard to refuse. This Nevada restaurant may be in the middle of nowhere, but it's so worth the journey!

Here are your Middlegate Station directions: Your remote destination awaits about 47 miles east of Fallon on Highway 50, the Loneliest Road in America, near the State Route 361 junction.

The Middlegate Station Monster Burger is a one and one-third-pound triple-decker Angus burger on a sourdough bun that is topped with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, cheese, peppers, and olives, plus fries on the side.

The Middlegate Station menu has a wide selection of delicious items and fries made by "the awesome God of French fry making" according to one reviewer.

Middlegate Station's ceiling is also somewhat famous. It's covered with signed and dated dollar bills and other foreign currency from customers.

This Enchanting And Historic Town In Nevada Is The Perfect Day Trip Destination

Winnemucca, Nevada, is a historic small town known for its friendly residents, preserved buildings, and annual Basque Festival.

There are many wonderful Nevada small towns, most of which are loaded with local history. From abandoned gold-rush-era ghost towns to bustling little cities, there is so much to explore and discover. Among these is Winnemucca, Nevada, a historic small town in Nevada with some fun and interesting claims to fame.

Though incorporated as a city, Winnemucca is still very much a small town, with just over 8,500 residents.

Founded in Northern Nevada in the 1800s, this town takes its name from Chief Winnemucca of the Northern Paiute tribe that originally inhabited this area.

There is much to enjoy in Winnemucca but perhaps the most enchanting thing about this town is its people, which has led to it being called the “Friendliest Town in Nevada.”

In town, you can see wonderfully preserved historic buildings full of character. The beautiful Winnemucca State Bank and Trust Company building has storybook charm and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

There is a legend that on September 19, 1900, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, the gang also known as the "Wild Bunch," robbed another bank building - the First National Bank of Winnemucca - of over $32,000 in gold coins. Butch Cassidy’s involvement in the bank robbery was never proven but lends a bit of fun history to this place.

Stop by the Convention venue and Visitor Center building, recognizable by the large colorful mural on the outside wall. The Winnemucca Visitor Center is home to the local Chamber of Commerce, wildlife and mineral exhibits, and the unique Buckaroo Hall of Fame.

Northern Nevada has strong roots in Basque culture, and every year, Winnemucca hosts a Basque Festival to honor the heritage of Basque immigrants who worked as sheepherders in the region during the middle of the 19th century.

The festival is a celebration full of traditional music, storytelling, dancing, and food, not to mention Nevada’s famous Picon Punch.

Winnemucca serves as the county seat of Humboldt County and is home to this historic courthouse.

This lovely brick building was the Winnemucca Main Post Office, built in 1921, and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

A visit to the Humboldt Museum is a must during your day in Winnemucca. The museum tells stories of the amazing history of this place, from Ice Age fossils to cultural artifacts from the American Indian, Chinese, and Basque populations to the “Art Nouveau” period, and much more that will heighten your appreciation for this historic town.

In addition to the modern brick museum building, property includes an old church (which became the original museum), an 1880s store known as the Greinstein Building and an 1899 home, the Richardson-Saunders House.

Winnemucca’s gorgeous mountain backdrop is even more stunning in winter.
