With a population of just 3,000 residents, the quiet town of Minden isn't exactly considered a tourist destination. Visitors who find themselves in the Carson Valley should definitely plan on visiting Minden, as it's truly one of the most unique communities in the state. In fact, it's the only town in Nevada that was fully mapped and defined before any construction on the town took place.
Established by the notable Dangberg family, Minden is proud of its old-fashioned charm which remains present to this very day. As you stroll through the historic downtown, you're bound to spot 100-year-old homes and sturdy brick buildings which were designed by famous Nevada architect Frederick Delongchamps.
One of the town's most gorgeous features is the bandstand and gazebo which stands in the middle of the downtown area. On a sunny day, it makes for an excellent place to sit, enjoy a picnic, and take in the outstanding beauty of Minden's mountainous backdrop.
The town itself feels like something out of a bygone era.
