Double Arch Bridge
First stop is the Double Arch Bridge! This fabulous bit of bridge received the Presidential Award for Design Excellence in 1995, and sites 155 feet above the ground.
Plus, this is the view from the top. It's absolutely stunning, especially in the spring and autumn! That's when Tennessee colors are on full display.
Jackson Falls
One of the most popular hikes off the trace, you quickly drop 900 feet along the well paved trail and get a pretty little view as well. Check out the Baker Bluff Overlook, too!
Tobacco Farm - Old Trace
This is a fun stop because you get to learn about the process tobacco growers implement from start to finish. Great for the kids and fun for adults, this is another solid stop.
Fall Hollow Trail
Time to stretch those legs again! Fall Hollow Trail is just a five minute walk from the road, but the view will make you feel like you're far, far away.
Meriwether Lewis Monument
Meriwether Lewis of the famous Lewis and Clark expedition breathed his last breath on the Natchez Trace in a story rife with dark questions and limited answers. There's a campground, picnic areas, and some solid hiking trails, too!
There are tons of other stops along the way, if you so desire. Take the whole road - it'll take you a few days if you make the most of it, but you'll leave with some southern tinged memories that are sure to make you smile for years to come.
