Leipers Fork is located about forty-five minutes from Nashville, a sweet step back in time that will make you feel like you should be singing amongst birds or reading books in a tower. The darling getaway is actually recognized by the state as a, "rural village," so there's really no reason to stick in those city limits, wouldn't you say? We'll visit together, though you may never want to leave...
Leipers Fork gets its name from one of the original settlers of the area, who used his own last name to mark the fork in the nearby creek it was located. Thus, "Leipers Fork" was born with hardly a thought to the ever-necessary kitchen utensil.
Interesting fact: the original Puckett's Grocery is located in Leipers Fork. You can show up for a homecooked meat-and-three, with live music every night. A small grocery is located at the very back of the Leipers Fork locale, and it's fun to wander through the small smattering of shelves.
This looks like the most homey kitchen this side of the Mississippi. It may look empty now, but Puckett's really fills out when it comes to late night shows and dinnertime. You'll want to show up early, and get ready for the true Tennessee talent to come out of the woodwork.
The whole place looks like it's been been torn straight from a story book, as if you could find a fairy tale set to southern twang in the forested expanses or rolling hills. It's also located on the historic Natchez-Trace Parkway, with views for miles.
Can we just LIVE here?! Because this small community is dying to host the newest Disney prince or princess. This could've been the setting for Belle's village in the live-action, "Beauty and the Beast."
One of the neatest things about Leipers Fork is its highly saturated community of artists. Take a walk through their (tiny) downtown, and you'll have the chance to peruse art galleries and antique stores that attract tourists from across the nation.
Leipers Fork stretches across 1,100 acres and is home to 650 full-time residents. It has been known as Hillsboro and Benton, but is now solidly settled on the National Register of Historic Places. Since 1998, as a matter of fact.
Home to some of the most beautiful countryside in the state, Leipers Fork has a 215-year history that's sure to make a mark on your heart.
