Here are 11 of the prettiest places in Montana that you definitely should add to your bucket list.
1. Lake McDonald, Glacier National Park

2. Gates of the Mountains Wildnerness
The Gates of the Mountains Wilderness is located near Helena and the beautiful canyon once impressed Lewis & Clark on their journey. It will impress you too.
3. Kootenai Falls
Located in between Libby and Troy, Kootenai Falls is the largest undammed waterfall in Montana. Not only is it beautiful, but you get to cross a swinging bridge with great views to reach it.
4. Missoula's "M" Trail
The city and landscape views from this 1.2-mile trail are incredible. Make the hike at least once in your life and give yourself plenty of time to just sit and admire the views at the end — they are very impressive.
5. Bighorn Canyon
The looming walls of Bighorn Canyon look like they could have been imported straight from Arizona or Utah. But this gem in Southeast Montana is ours, and we're lucky to have it.
6. The Whitefish Range
Whether you're into snow sports or not, you'll be blown away by the views from Whitefish Mountain Resort. This range is one of the most photo-worthy parts of Montana. In fact, many people believe this is one of the prettiest places in Montana.

9. Palisade Falls, Bozeman
Believe it or not, the best time to see this majestic waterfall is actually in winter. It's much less crowded, and sometimes the water freezes and looks beautiful. There's no doubt that Palisade Falls is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Montana.
10. Wild Goose Island Viewpoint, St. Mary Lake, Glacier National Park
The Wild Goose Island Viewpoint is the spot on Going-to-the-Sun Road where you can take a peek at the tiny Wild Goose Island on St. Mary Lake. This view has been published in countless travel articles and books, but every Montanan should see it in person ... it's even better.
