In a state full of cities and towns surrounded by breathtaking beauty, it's impossible to choose a place that tops the list of most naturally beautiful places. But if you've ever spent time in Big Sky, you know how incredible it looks from every corner. If you have yet to go, allow us to convince you to visit -- especially in the winter. Why? Because in our humble opinion, Big Sky is the most beautiful winter town in Montana! Let's take a look...
Big Sky really embodies our nickname, "Big Sky Country."
The views from the top of the Beehive Trail will leave you more breathless than the hike. The Beehive Basin trail is located near Big Sky Mountain Village, and while it's open all year for outdoor fun, it's especially lovely in the winter. The trail is about seven miles long in its entirety, and it looks gorgeous when it's dusted with snow!
The town, which is surrounded by mountains (four, to be exact), is considered a gateway to Yellowstone National Park.
Big Sky Town Center is the perfect gathering spot -- it's the ultimate ski town.
And while it's incredibly gorgeous in the summer...
... it's the winters here that are truly incredible.
From the first real snowfall to the final dusting in spring, you'll find most tourists and some locals skiing at Big Sky Resort.
With 38 lifts and 5,850 skiable acres, it's easy to see why Big Sky Resort is so popular!
Winter hikes are popular too.
Gallatin County is stunning in any season, and Big Sky might be the most beautiful town of them all.
Have you ever been to Big Sky? Do you think it's the best winter town in Montana? It definitely deserves a spot on the list of Montana's most charming towns, that's for sure!
