We already know Montana is the best state in the country. Still, it's always nice to see it get the recognition it deserves. Recently, Matador Network listed the 25 coolest small towns in America to visit in 2021, and our beautiful Big Sky made the list. Come explore this charming resort town that resides here in our backyard.
Big Sky is located in southern Montana, a cozy community in the Rocky Mountains that lies northeast of Yellowstone.
Only about 3,000 people call this area home, although they get plenty of tourists throughout the year.
The town of Big Sky may be small, but it's a perfect home base for year-round recreation.
Big Sky Town Center is the perfect gathering spot.
Big Sky is considered Montana's top skiing destination, and the slopes stay perpetually packed all winter.
With 38 lifts and 5,850 skiable acres, it's easy to see why Big Sky Resort is so popular.
Of course, this is a beautiful place to be in the spring and summer as well.
Residents here have unparalleled access to the outdoors -- you'll be surrounded by hiking trails, fishing streams, and so much more.
There's even a beautiful waterfall located on the outskirts of town.
Ousel Falls sits at the end of a short, easy nature trail, and it's stunning.
The food scene here is almost as wonderful as the natural surroundings.
With restaurants like Horn & Cantle (pictured here), Olive B's Big Sky Bistro, and Michaelangelo's, deciding where to dine can be difficult.
Horn & Cantle uses local purveyors and seasonal produce whenever possible.
Their steaks, trout, and burgers are out of this world.
Big Sky even has a laundromat bar called Sit and Spin.

Big Sky is, by far, one of Montana's most beautiful destinations.
