Taylors Falls is a beautiful small town on Minnesota’s eastern border. It’s about 60 miles outside of the Twin Cities, making it an easy day trip destination for most Minnesotans. It’s only about an hour’s drive!
The town is nestled on the banks of the beautiful St. Croix River. Because of its location, there are many beautiful natural attractions. For example, Interstate State Park is full of trails that take visitors along the river to see glacial potholes and other interesting formations.
If you’d rather enjoy the river itself, there are plenty of opportunities to do that as well. Many enjoy canoeing and kayaking on the river. There’s even a rental place in town if you don’t have your own boat.
The historic riverboat tours are also a famous Taylors Falls attraction. You can hop aboard a beautiful paddle boat to see the river up close. Tour guides will point out interesting sites, including rock formations, along the river. There are even special themed tours throughout the season, including a twilight tour, a Father’s Day excursion, and more.
Beyond the river, Taylors Falls has plenty to do. During the winter months, Wild Mountain is a great place to visit for skiers, snowboarders, and snow tubers. In the summer, guests can cool off in the water park!
If you’re into history, you may enjoy a visit to the Folsom House. This historic home and museum dates back to 1850. It was the home of W.H.C. Folsom, a lumber businessman who was also a state senator.
