Most Minnesotans can think of at least one town they love passing through. Some of us even know places that we'd go out of our way to visit. Whether they have scenic beauty, amazing restaurants, or fun festivals, Minnesota towns offer something for everyone. But there's place in particular that it's safe to say is one of Minnesota's most unique towns. Lindstrom - or Lindström - is anything but ordinary.
Located about 40 miles northeast of Minneapolis, Lindstrom is perfect for a day trip.
This little town - just over 4,400 people - is surrounded by lakes.
But Lindstrom has plenty to do besides the lakes.
No matter the time of year.
This town is actually known for its Swedish heritage. In fact, it calls itself America’s Little Sweden.
You can see the influence starting when you first drive in. The sign proudly states that Lindstrom’s sister city is Tingsryd, Sweden.
The adorable Swedish teapot water tower is also a great reminder.

There's also a cute downtown with plenty of food and shopping.

The Lindstrom Antique Mall is a great place to get lost. Who knows, you may find the vintage treasure you didn't know you needed.
Or you could pop in to Northwoods Roasterie for a cozy cup of coffee.
All in all, Lindstrom is a fantastic - and unique - Minnesota town.
