Did you know that the tiny town of Brookeville was actually the United States Capital for a day? It's also full of historic buildings. According to the US Census, 134 people were last reported living in the 0.12 square miles of area.
This Charles County town has the teeniest population, last reported at only 13 people! In its 0.16 square miles of space you'll find buildings from the 1800s, including the old courthouse, which has been transformed into an interesting museum.
Vienna may be small but its water views are splendid. Enjoy some peace and quite along the Nanticoke River when visiting this spot. The population here is reportedly 271 residents and a square mileage of 0.19.
Sharpsburg is home to one of the most famous battlefields in the US -- Antietam. Head here to soak in the history and soak in the scenery as well. Sharpsburg is a mere 0.23 square miles and has 705 residents.
Don't pass by this 0.26 square mile town. With 535 residents, this area remains pleasantly quiet. Lovers of history will enjoy the old church and other spots that are great for photographing.
A beach town is always worth a visit, especially when it comes to North Beach. Visit the little area businesses that are squeezed into the 0.33 miles of space. 1,978 people currently call this area home. With bay views like this, we can see why!
You may know Burkittsville as the home of the Blair Witch. However, this rural town is actually full of charm and no witches (as far as we know). Its 0.45 miles is perfect for photographing as the rural views are quite beautiful. 151 people reside here.
Accident was one of Western Maryland's first settlements so it has plenty of history that many people don't know about. A handful of buildings here are on the national register of history places and the scenery is worth seeing in person. There are 325 residents living within its 0.49 square miles.
Chesapeake City is located right along the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal, making for wonderful water views. Stay at a local inn and enjoy watching large ships chug on by. This town covers 0.5 square miles and is home to 673 people.
Oxford is home to America's oldest privately-owned ferry, and you can still take a ride on it today. While here, you'll also enjoy historic inns and gorgeous views of the Tred Avon River. This town is great for a weekend getaway. It's home to 651 people and covers 0.54 square miles.

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L.
