7. Fort Macomb: An Abandoned Fort Near New Orleans That Most People Stay Far Away From
Fort Macomb was built in 1822, and occupied during the Civil War. It was decommissioned in 1871, and has been vacant ever since. The fort isn't hospitable to visitors, but it's an interesting piece of history. It's located on the western shore of Chef Menteur Pass.

8. Prehistoric Park: A Unique Park Near New Orleans That Most People Don't Know Exists
Explore this 10-acre park that is filled with dinosaurs! As you walk down the paved path, you'll see 23 dinosaurs, some of which are even animatronic. Prehistoric Park is located at 1135 North Barn Road, in Henderson.

9. Mosca's Restaurant: A Remote Restaurant That Will Make You Feel A Million Miles Away From Everything
