I know I have said it before, but Kansas truly is the heartland of America. The people are genuine and the agriculture is strong. The Sunflower State just has so many things going for it. No matter where you are in Kansas, you are likely to be close to good people, food, jobs, and so on, but if you live in this one city in particular, you truly have it made. Here is why:
With a population of just over 6,000, the city of Abilene may seem small on the outside, but what it lacks in size, it truly makes up for with its abundance of kind people and things to do and see.
In 2014, financial website NerdWallet named Abilene one of the best cities for young families because of its affordable housing and outdoor recreation opportunities.
The following year, real estate website Niche dubbed the city as both a best town to raise a family, as well as retire.
One glance at home prices is all you need to see!
In addition to home affordability, Abilene is one picturesque town. Think I'm biased? Okay, maybe I am a little biased... but I'm not the only one to think so! In fact, Culture Trip dubbed Abilene as the #1 most beautiful town in Kansas...
...and Good Housekeeping named it one of the 50 most beautiful towns in all of America.
What is it about Abilene that we love the most? Well, for starters, we love the laundry list of potential activities...
Trains, museums, the arts... You name it, and Abilene is almost sure to have it.
...history...
Did you know: Not only is Abilene President Dwight Eisenhower's beloved hometown, it was also an important hub for cowboys and travelers during the first cattle drives along the Chisholm Trail.
...and food.
Family-style chicken dinners, old-fashioned soda fountains, and gourmet bistros... What more could you possibly want?
It is for these reasons and many more that we believe you should drop everything and move to Abilene. Are you one of the lucky ones who already calls the town "home"?
