Have you ever wanted to explore a small town, but you prefer one with plenty of food options? If you've got time to spend multiple days somewhere on a road trip, eating the same thing can definitely get boring. So, we've found one amazing small town for you to explore with both your eyes and your stomach. Today, we're headed to Pittsburg, Kansas where there's more than enough food to go around when you visit. Come check it out!
El Caballo De Oro is the first restaurant on our list, because every good small town should be serving good Tex-Mex or Mexican cuisine.
Here, you can enjoy your favorite queso chicken, burritos, rice, and more.
Our next restaurant is Otto's Cafe, a charming smaller place that serves comfort food and smiles.
Chicken fried steak, amazing biscuits, and all sorts of desserts for after your meal. It's a dream come true!
Next up is Jim's Steak House, a Kansas classic with some of the best onion straws I've ever had.
You'll want to try them, but make sure to save room for their steak.
Gusano's is next up on the list, with pizza and calzones that are plenty for anyone's tastes.
Sit down with a pie or calzone of your own, and chow down before heading back to your adventure.
After Gusano's, you wouldn't expect another Italian place in town, but Napoli's is another spot you can spoil yourself with.
They're more about Italian eats than pizza, though their calzones are some of the best I've had.
Next up is our two favorite chicken places, and Chicken Mary's is first on our list to check out.
You'll want a plate with chicken, potatoes, and spaghetti to say the least. If you have time, I suggest trying their competitor as well.
Chicken Annie's is next on our list, and they have a mini rivalry with Chicken Mary's when it comes to who makes better chicken.
I personally love both options, but it's truly hard to pick a favorite. They both serve such great food!
Last but not least is Harry's Cafe, a spot where you'll find friendly Kansas service and plates full of food.
Comfort foods and great breakfasts are commonplace here, so stop by anytime during your travels.
If you love great food with small town vibes, then check out this one in Kansas City, Kansas that's just as country comfortable.
