There's plenty of farming areas of Kansas, and it could be argued that a good portion of our state is all farm land. This particular farm town draws in people from all over with its family style meals and home cooked, love-in-every-bite guarantee. Have you been to this tiny place in Kansas that's huge on flavor? Let's check it out.
The tiny town you see here is a peaceful place called Yoder, It's an Amish community, that produces amazing home-grown produce and meat.
They love their culture, and even hold festivals sharing it with locals who wish to learn more about what it means to live an Amish life.
Often enough, you'll see them riding horse-and-buggy around town or using older styles of things to go about their daily lives.
One of the main sources of the town's fame is Carriage Crossing, a restaurant full of home cooked meals and family atmosphere.
From the moment you step inside, you'll see (and smell) all the love and care for every quilt block, painting, and baked good.
It's also the perfect time to pre-order a slice of pie or cinnamon rolls to take home with you for later. There's no way you'll have room for it after dinner, because they're the size of your head!
When you sit down, you're treated to fresh table bread and cinnamon butter that's so addicting, it's crazy.
Relax at a window seat, and enjoy the farmside views. Small town restaurants are so beautiful, where you can see for miles uninterrupted.
The food here is amazing, whether you've got a weakness for fried chicken, chicken fried steak, or any other comfort food made from scratch.
This little farming town has grown so much from when they started the restaurant, and we hope to see them keep growing in the future.
You'll find Carriage Crossing at 10002 S Yoder Rd., Yoder, KS, just southwest of Hutchinson. They're open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with breakfast served until 10:30 a.m. each day. Enjoy!
