Kansas is full of old things, old people, and old places.
However, that means that we have a plethora of antiques and vintage collections just waiting for you. This time, we're going on a road trip to see some of Kansas' great antique stores. As a bonus, we've planned a whole weekend out for you, including a place to stay and places to eat that will fit the theme just wonderfully. Here's a link to the map for you. Here's a set of weekend plans when you're looking to find some new antiques for the house, while simultaneously taking a day out for a change.
Use up a Friday and Saturday (or mid week days) and head out on this trail! Total drive time for this trip is almost 4.5 hours, so you won't spend much time in the car compared to these stops.
1. Poehler Mercantile Antique Mall
This little shop is a great first stop, as long as you can keep yourself from buying the whole store! Over 14,000 square feet of space is taken up by some great furniture and knick knacks.

2. Paper Moon Antiques
Paper Moon in Emporia is a stellar spot for stunning glassware as well as other items. Though it's smaller than the last shop, you'll see that they make their space work for them, showcasing only the best pieces. In addition to great wares, they're also right down the block from Poehler's.

3. Trail Days Cafe & Museum
Since you've probably worked up an appetite by now, we've chosen the Trail Days Cafe as a great place to eat before you settle for the night.

4. Moore House Bed and Breakfast
Built in 1938, there's plenty of antique decor throughout the whole place, including the rooms. In addition to this, there's also a fresh breakfast in the morning that comes with the room rental.

5. Rockwood Books and Collectibles
You aren't going to find much in the way of furniture here, but variety is good. If you've got a vintage bookshelf that's just itching for the right materials, look no further. Plus, they also have comics and graphic novels as well.

7. Rusty Haggles Antiques
Rusty Haggles sounds like a funny name, but what they have inside is exactly that. It's antiques of all kinds, some of which need a little love and others can be used right away. Re-purposed goods of all kinds are here for you to browse.

8. Fork to Fender
This little shop area in Lawrence is a must-try for lovers of hand pies. In my opinion, you're not allowed to leave without a creme brulee!

9. Leavenworth Antique Mall
Around 70 vendors display their wares here, making it a huge collection of antiques and vintage pieces of all sorts. It's a great stop as your last antiques store, and you'll hopefully find something worthwile to bring home!

10. All Slabbed Up
You can end your day with a plate of delicious ribs or other barbecue creations. Don't you think it's the perfect Kansas ending to this stunning antiques road trip?
