Is it just me, or does it seem like Kansas has some sort of a haunted locale everywhere you turn? A haunted house there... a haunted cemetery over there... It's crazy. If you are a fan of the paranormal, you need to take this ultimate terrifying road trip. Here's where you'll be going:
Start wherever is closest to you; in our case, it's Atchison.
1. Atchison
With a variety of haunted homes, parks, and schools, the most haunted town in Kansas does not disappoint when it comes to the abnormal. Check out our article about Atchison hauntings for a complete list of places to visit.
2. Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery (Fort Leavenworth)
If you can, plan your Fort Leavenworth visit for the evening, when the mysterious "Lady in White" is said to roam the grounds in search of her lost children...
3. Sauer Castle (Kansas City)
What was once the home of a German immigrant is now an abandoned and neglected 18th-century German Gothic mansion with reports of unexplained orbs, sounds and other paranormal sightings.
4. Stull Cemetery (Stull)
Tread lightly through this old cemetery or you may stumble upon one of the "Seven Gateways to Hell," which is said to appear within the gates after dark.
5. Fort Riley (Junction City)
The ghosts of military legends like General George Armstrong Custer have been spotted around the historic base, as well as the spirits of other unknown soldiers.
6. Holton House Bed and Breakfast (Holton)
Sadly, the historic funeral-parlour-turned-bed-and-breakfast is now closed, but it is said that you can still hear mysterious voices and see unexplained shadows outside the home.
