Washington Park Beach is the place to be when you're looking for a large beach with lifeguards to keep you safe. Starting on May 26th, lifeguards will be keeping an eye out on the beach from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
Trail Creek circles around the city, through Pottawattamie Park, and emptying into Lake Michigan right by the Old Lighthouse Museum. The creek is a popular spot for kayaking, and if you're looking for a relaxing activity that will take you inland a bit, this is it.
