From Harmony to French Lick, Indiana is home to some pretty interesting town names. Here are ten town names in Indiana that may surprise you.
1.) Battle Ground
I don’t know about you, but it just sounds dangerous to go here…. If you are feeling brave.
2.) Center Point
I feel like this town should be located in the middle of Indiana and it isn’t… It isn’t really the center point of Indiana, is it?
3.) Centerville
Because you know…. Center Point wasn’t enough. We may not be the most creative folks in the US.
4.) Elizabeth and Elizabethtown
Maybe we just really like the name Elizabeth. These two towns really aren’t that close to each other either. Don’t you think it is a little redundant that we have a town named Elizabeth and another town named Elizabethtown?
5.) Farmersburg and Farmland
I wonder if there are farmers living in these two towns… These two towns are on opposite sides of the state.
6.) French Lick
You didn’t really think this list wasn’t going to include French Lick did you? What is up with that name?! You can find it in the southern portion of Indiana in Orange County.
7.) Grandview
Ironically enough, this town got its name because of the grand view it has of the Ohio River.
8.) Harmony
You have to get along with everyone to live in Harmony, Indiana.

Population of roughly 300 people. So, 300 people know how to say that town name!
