We've compiled some of the best, scariest places in Indiana and created an ultimate haunted road trip for you to explore this fall...if you're brave enough...

1. Primrose Road - South Bend
This spooky road is the perfect place to start our terrifying haunted road trip, so long as you drive at night. Legend has it that you must drive between 20-30 mph when on this road, or else your car will malfunction (tires go flat, battery dies, etc). You won't be able to call for help on your cell phone (you'll get no service) and some claim the ghost of a woman will appear and either grant you good luck or cause your car to disappear.
2. Barbee Hotel - Warsaw
The Barbee Hotel has a long history of haunted events. It's most famous for housing gangsters in the early 1900s, the most famous of those being Al Capone. Many visitors claim the hotel is haunted by the ghosts of these gangsters, including a past gangster's murdered girlfriends. Visitors claim she was murdered in one of the hotel rooms and her screams can still be heard at night.
3. Randolph County Infirmary - Winchester
This creepy former asylum is rumored to house several ghosts and contain tons of paranormal activity. From ghostly footsteps to moving objects and shadowy figures, there's a ton of creepy stuff here to scare even the bravest of souls. If you've feeling extra brave, stay overnight (book in advance) and see if you become a believer.
4. Crown Hill Cemetery - Indianapolis
This historic cemetery has too many paranormal stories to convey in one article. It's where John Dillinger and famous officials were buried, and many claim it has a high occurrence of paranormal activity. One of the creepier stories of ghost sightings is attributed to a large gravesite where nearly 700 orphans were buried together. Other stories revolve around war figures, such as haunted soldiers lingering on the cemetery grounds.
5. Haunted Bridge - Avon
Locals will warn you to say off of this haunted bridge at night. If you go anyway, they warn that you'll hear the heartbreaking cries of a woman who dove off the bridge to avoid a train, calling out for the child who died during their fall. Some claim you can even see her tears dripping from the bridge into the water below. This is just one of the stories, though. Others tell of a man who died while working on building the bridge, claiming his body was sealed inside the cement, and his arm hacked off to fit inside the bridge's design. Creepy.
6. Stepp Cemetery - Martinsville
Cemeteries are always a little spooky, but this next stop on our road trip is particularly terrifying. Most stories claim there is a woman cloaked in darkness who stands guard over her loved one's grave site. She can often be found roaming the cemetery or more commonly, sitting on a tree stump near her loved one's grave.
7. The Story Inn - Nashville
This famous hotel is said to be haunted by the "Blue Lady." While not rumored to be scary, the Blue Lady can often be found in the Garden Room and loves to leave behind items of blue, such as hair ribbon. Many believe her to be the wife of the building's founder, George Story.
8. Tunnelton Tunnel - Bedford
This tunnel can be found in Tunnelton, a community located within Bedford, Indiana. Also called the Big Tunnel, this dark space is said to be haunted by the ghost of a man who was beheaded during the construction of the tunnel. Believers insist he carries a lantern in one of his hands...and his head in the other!
9. The Willard Library - Evansville
This stunning library is the last stop on our haunted tour. The Willard Library haunting claims have been made by visitors as well as staff. The ghost haunting this library has been named "The Grey Lady" and was first spotted in the 1930s. Even paranormal investigators have confirmed sightings of her!
