Long Beach, Indiana is a tiny town just outside of the larger Michigan City. This "coastal" town in Indiana sits along the stunning Lake Michigan and is part of the ecological masterpiece known as the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
This tiny town was named for the beach it resides on and existed solely as a resort town in the early 1920s. Now, with just over 1,000 residents, this sleepy little coastal town combines lakeside fun with small town charm. Long Beach is home to many famous homes, three of which are on the National Register of Historical Places. The above Hoover-Timme House was designed by famous architect John Lloyd Wright in 1929. The Prairie School style house features mansford roofs and has an unforgettable aesthetic. The Isabel Burnham House and Lowell E. and Paula G. Jackson House join this structure on the list of historic structures in this tiny town.
In addition to historical sites and stunning architecture, Long Beach is filled with small, local shops and eateries. For a taste of incredible cuisine, you'll love visiting the Beach Glass Cafe, where you'll find incredible coffee, pastries, ice cream, and milkshakes.
