Indiana is a downright beautiful place, and luckily for those of us who prefer to explore via car, there are plenty of amazing scenic drives in Indiana you can do starting...well, now! Try out the amazing State Route 62, a 203.8-mile jaunt across southern Indiana that you won't soon forget. It's an amazing drive all year round, and you're sure to discover new places and things to do along the way. Fill up that gas tank and let's go: we've got some beautiful places to see.
State Route 62 begins at the beautiful Wabash Memorial Bridge, which is found over the Wabash River in between New Haven, Illinois and Posey County, Indiana.
It extends through 12 counties, and every mile of it is worth the journey - you'll see!
Should you start at the Wabash Bridge, you'll first pass through the town of Mount Vernon, which is filled with historic buildings and other interesting attractions.
While in Mount Vernon, you might want to check out the breathtakingly fascinating Mann Hopewell Site, which is home to more ancient artifacts than you could ever dream of.
Evansville comes soon after, providing amazing river views and top-notch shopping and eateries.
While in Evansville, you might want to check out some of the interesting natural wonders that exist here, like the totally awesome Wesselman Woods, a 200-acre forest preserve where you can kick back, relax, and check out some delightful wildlife, flora, and fauna.
Eventually, you'll arrive in Harrison County, Indiana, where you'll find even more things to do and see.
You won't want to miss a visit to Buffalo Trace Park, a 150-acre preserve near the town of Palmyra, which is home to a cool hidden beach you'll just have to see to believe.
Finally, after many more miles (and hopefully lots of fun stops along the way), you'll pass through Madison, Indiana, on your way to the end of the journey.
Madison is an adorable historic town in Indiana you're sure to fall in love with. Be careful: moving here is totally an option.
