Indiana has some great little cities, but the majority of our state is made up of rural land and small towns. While visiting urban areas is awesome, many of the best places in Indiana can actually be found in the boonies. (And if you ask us, the boonies are the real heart of the state!) If you're looking to visit some places that are out in the boonies, but well worth the drive, you'll want to check out these Indiana boonies road trips to take you to some secret corners of the state.
1. Bonge's Tavern, Perkinsville

2. Medora Covered Bridge, Medora

3. Kunkel's Drive-In, Connersville

4. Holiday World and Splashin' Safari, Santa Claus

5. Das Dutchman Essenhaus
This amazing Amish restaurant and store will provide you with an out of this world home-cooked meal. From turkey dinners to beef and noodles to homemade pies and desserts, you'll fall in love with this quaint restaurant. In fact, we think it's the best restaurant in Amish Country.
6. Beef House, Covington

7. Marengo Cave, Marengo
Marengo Cave is one of only four caves available to view and explore in Indiana. This stunning cave system offers a few different tours and is an absolute wonder to behold. Plus, the town of Marengo might just be Indiana's best-kept secret.
8. The Story Inn, Nashville
The Story Inn is a local legend in the tiny town of Nashville. This B&B is an amazing place to get a gourmet meal if you don't mind the drive. Stay overnight if you dare...it's rumored this inn is haunted!
9. Sara's Harmony Way, New Harmony
