Every evening in December at 4:30 p.m., Lilacia Park turns into a glittering winter wonderland full of bright, colorful lights. The park is located at 150 S. Park Ave., Lombard, IL 60148.
Dozens of volunteers pitch in to help string lights on the trees around the 8.5-acre garden, and their efforts sure pay off! The festivities kick off on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. with the annual tree lighting.
Take a stroll down the winding path through the park. You'll find vibrant, cheerful light displays around every corner.
Some of the light displays have lights that make them look like they're moving. The wheels on this Christmas train look like they're chugging right along.
For some families, the lights at Lilacia Park are a holiday tradition...
...and there are plenty of spots to pose for a winter wonderland photo. The lights will brighten up the park every evening through January.
There's one more weekend to enjoy some special holiday events at this light display.
There are plenty of opportunities to see Santa and his elves, too. Free visits with Santa and friends are scheduled for December 8, 13, 14, 15, 20, and 21 from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. Polar Express Night takes place on Sunday, December 22 from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. and every participant will receive their own bell when they visit Santa.
