However, many Idahoans are under the impression that these small towns don’t have delightful and charming places to stay the night. We are here to prove them wrong. 3. The Harkness Hotel, McCammon
It’s not often you find a luxury hotel in a small southeastern Idaho town. The Harkness is an award-winning boutique hotel that is absolutely stunning. This historic hotel is located inside a 1906 building that was originally the McCammon State Bank Building. As you walk around inside, you’ll find historic details like arch-top windows, huge skylights, and the original wood floors. It’s also okay to stop and stare at the crystal chandeliers, exquisite tile, and other intricate details found all throughout this building.
4. Hill’s Resort, Priest Lake
Located in the panhandle is the charming Hill’s Resort. Here, you can choose from a variety of accommodations, from lakefront cabins with large fireplaces and decks to condos with multiple bedrooms and full kitchens. Hill's Resort is perfect for couples or an entire family. There is room for everyone and you’ll enjoy some of the most beautiful views regardless of when you visit.
5. South Fork Riverside Retreat, Garden Valley
The South Fork Riverside Retreat is one of the most picturesque places to stay in Idaho. This mountain retreat features a cozy cabin that can comfortably sleep up to eight guests. 6. Rocky Mountain Red Brick Inn, Preston
The Rocky Mountain Red Brick Inn is definitely one of the most unique places to stay in Idaho. This building was originally erected as a church in the 1920s. Today, it is a charming bed and breakfast. There are seven rooms throughout the building and multiple common areas including a beautiful chapel. You’ll enjoy a delicious buffet-style meal during your stay and believe us, you’ll want to walk around and see all that this unique building has to offer.
7. Sawtooth Hotel, Stanley
The Sawtooth Hotel is a mountain-themed getaway located in the small town of Stanley. The rooms are spacious, yet cozy. This hotel is not packed with tons of amenities like television sets, but you won’t care as you’ll want to spend all of your time outdoors in one of the most scenic areas in Idaho. 8. Silver Fox Yurt, Near McCall
When you want to get away — like really get away — how about a glamping experience? At Silver Fox Yurt, you can easily find the peace and quiet you desire. This 16-foot yurt comfortably sleeps four guests and features a small kitchen area and a wood stove to keep you warm. During the winter, you must ski or snowshoe to the yurt as the roads are not plowed.
9. The Pines at Island Park, Island Park
Find peace and quiet while staying in gorgeous cabins at The Pines at Island Park. This mountain resort features a variety of cabins that range in size and the number of amenities offered. You can choose a small cabin with just one bedroom and a loft or a large cabin that can comfortably sleep up to eight guests. Make sure you schedule plenty of time to relax in the private hot tubs that are available at many of these cabins as well.
