Located smack dab in the middle of Caldwell's iconic Indian Creek Plaza is the state's only ice skating ribbon. This enchanting attraction is a fantastic way to escape cabin fever and enjoy the beauty of the winter season, so be sure to check it out this year!

There are less than a dozen other ice ribbons in the country, so to have one in the heart of Idaho's Treasure valley is something special. The ice skating ribbon officially opened in 2018.

Full of vibrant light displays and boasting plenty of family-friendly special events, Indian Creek Plaza is already a magical place to spend a chilly winter day. But the building of the ice ribbon every year is filled with extra anticipation.

Four miles of piping, multiple layers of concrete, ice, and paint all come together to create a family attraction that keeps its cool throughout the season. Eventually, the result is a gorgeous ice pathway that winds around the Plaza and culminates in an ice rink.

The Indian Creek Plaza Ice Skating Ribbon & Rink typically opens for the season just before Thanksgiving every year, and runs all the way through February - so you'll have plenty of time to visit out all winter long! This delightful plaza has become a beloved Christmas and winter-time destination among local families, and it's easy to see why.

Every winter, nearly 35,000 skaters from around the Treasure Valley will visit this slice of downtown Caldwell. But don't worry! You'll still find quiet times to visit throughout the day.

Since Caldwell's ice skating ribbon is located outdoors, you'll want to be sure to bundle up appropriately for the weather. Winters in Southern Idaho are no joke! However, you can always hang out by the fire pit when you're in need of some warming up.

Both skate rentals and passes can be purchased at the nearby Plaza Skate Shoppe, or feel free to bring your own trusty skates for discounted admission.

The ice skating ribbon is definitely a one-of-a-kind destination. Surrounded by the sight of decorations and lights along with a massive Christmas tree, a few laps around this ice rink will make you feel like you've fallen into your very own Christmas Hallmark movie.
